Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Analyzer and Metering Team Lead located in Soyo, Africa through June 3, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
Position Details: Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
•Coordinating and supervising the activities of the analyzer maintenance technicians, trainees and contracting personnel under his direction.
•The team leader will closely co-operate with both the maintenance superintendents to ensure maintenance plans are executed in a safe and efficient manner.
•This position will also provide training to Instrument - and Analyzer Technicians and Trainees.
•Has a high level of discretion in determining what maintenance work will be carried out in the field.
•Operates independently within agreed program, plans and budgets and may contribute to the development of these.
•Responsible for execution of clearly scoped programs.
•Position to liase directly with training department to ensure the training and Angolanisation of national trainees and employees is progressed through transfer of knowledge and skills through hands on mentoring and training.
•Estimates material and labour requirements for assigned jobs, prepares material requisitions for approval.
•Plans and lays out work in accordance with work requirements utilizing drawings and manuals as necessary.
•Directs installation, adjustment and repair work and reviews for compliance with standards of quality and safety.
•Reports equipment and required documentation changes in line with MOC procedures.
•Champions company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and practices good housekeeping.
•Reports or corrects unsafe conditions or practices.
•Ensures that maintenance work is performed in an efficient, safe and economical manner and that maintenance crews are fully productive.
•Champions safety and reliability performance that is aligned with the business plan.
•Continuously reinforces behavior based safety, JSA and other processes and procedures in daily work activities.
•Manages applicable Process Safety Management (PSM) systems.
•Works closely with production, engineering, maintenance and other groups.
•Develop, modifies and improves SOPs and maintenance procedures.
•Provides on-the-job mentoring & training of experienced and less experienced National staff in all areas of instrument, analyzer & metering maintenance.
•The position is a rotational assignment.
Required Qualifications:
•A minimum of a High School degree or equivalent.
•A minimum of 10 years experience working in oil and gas production operations maintenance, five (5) of which must be in on-shore/downstream operations.
•A minimum of 10 years experience in production operations with prior supervisory experience for large organizations a plus.
•Demonstrate safety & environmental performance and leadership traits, must be proactive in addressing safety issues and have a proven track record of strong support of processes that support Incident Free Operations with an emphasis on gas chromatographs, custody metering systems for gas processing facilities.
•Familiar with fire detection and suppression systems, complex control loops, Ex rated instrumentation, compressor anti-surge control (CCC), SIS (HIMA & Triconex) and BentlyNevada machinery monitoring systems, turbo machinery instrumentation and control systems, various types of PLC's.
•Effectively develops and executes critical business processes / plans to deliver facility reliability and availability target results.
•Supervisory experience in a multicultural workforce environment, including nationals on development programme.
•Background and experience in training and mentoring personnel; able to develop and implement training programs and SOPs.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience working with Turbo machinery - Generators and Compressors such as GE Fr 6 & 7 preferred.
•LNG experience will be considered added benefit.
•High proficiency in CMMS functionalities (SAP PM Preferred).
