Paint Shop Manager | Emirates- United Arab Emirates

Job Details:
The Paint Shop Manager is responsible for directing, coordinating and managing all paint shop activities concerning aircraft components received in Paint shop and all surface finish restoration activities in maintenance hangars, ensuring they are carried out in a timely, safe and cost effective manner and result in a high level of surface finish.
You will be responsible for controlling and co-ordinating the aircraft external wash program with key stakeholders and ensuring corporate standards are maintained.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
*.Report to the Manager-Aircraft Appearance Centre (AAC) any amendments required to the existing process, procedures and any safety issues. Offer implementation solutions to improve and enhance overall productivity and quality. In addition, monitor the facility and equipment performance highlighting any concerns or issues for appropriate action.
*.Oversee processes and procedures to ensure a seamless flow of components in/out of the shop, making sure the highest level of quality is maintained. Ensure timely delivery of items when needed so as to ensure maintenance inputs are not delayed.
*.Monitor progress, concerns and issues to be able to provide day to day status reports on work progress in the section to all stakeholders, highlighting any change in plan from the production schedule, so as to discuss them in AAC management meeting which would allow for prompt and effective actions.
*.Complete audit surveys and seek feedback from the internal customers (Line Maintenance, Base Ops , Base Heavy, different Overhaul shops) as well as from Service Delivery and Senior Management and take appropriate actions. Create monthly performance reports highlighting the performance and current issues and/or risks to meet the section’s objectives and planned work.
*.Responsible for exploring potential new capabilities and initiating and implementing feasible suggestions including the use of 3rdparty contractors in order to generate revenues from other operators and with suppliers to reduce process cost.
*.In liaison with Shift Manager-AAC, ensure the resources within AAC are shared efficiently and effectively so as to utilize them in an optimum manner. For long term resource planning monitor the manpower levels in the shop to ensure sufficient resources are always available to cater for the increasing workload in line with the company fleet expansion
*.Review Health Safety Environment (HSE) procedures and practices in the Paint Shop , ensuring full adherence by team, as well as taking overall responsibility for safety and efficiency of the paint process in Paint Shop by ensuring work setup, facility, equipment, and logistics are fully in place and safe before beginning the paint process. Must ensure the hazardous stores are well maintained and cleaned, and that thorough housekeeping is carried on site after the paint job is over.
*.Carry out performance reviews of the team identifying areas for improvement according to the team KPIs and ensuring development plans are completed in a timely manner and in line with the performance matrix. Ensure that all team members are trained and qualified fit for duties, while producing a training plan with timescale for qualification to be gained. Conduct regular review and coaching sessions with team members.
*.Responsible for the control and co-ordination of aircraft wash programes (Dry & Wet Washes) between the various dept stakeholders within Emirates and also dnata. To ensure that the aircraft external appearance meets or exceeds the required corporate standard.
Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications:
*.Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Aeronautical/ Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
*.8 + years in Engineering environment, of which 4 years must be in a supervisory role in painting of aircraft/components in a paint Hangar/Shop.
Knowledge/skills:
*.Competent and fully conversed in Engineering drawings, Aircrafts documentations including AMM/CMM/IPC and Paint Manufacturer’s Processes and Procedures...
