The Opportunity: Human Capital Manager, Tax
Reporting to the Tax HC Senior Manager, the Manager, Tax Human Capital, is responsible for providing proactive, strategic and consultative HC services to the Tax practice primarily within the GTA, with the support of the Tax HC team, a Shared Services Centre and peers across the country to ensure commonality and consistency of the PwC HC approach across the business. This is accomplished through:
·Partnering with Tax leadership and partners to support the Tax business strategy, with a particular focus on the People elements of the strategy;
·Engaging and collaborating with practice leaders and stakeholders using the 3 Client Principles (3CP’s) to deliver value added solutions that meet the needs of the client;
·Working collaboratively with the Senior Manager, Tax, Human Capital, and peers in the GTA and other regions to drive a “one-firm” approach;
·Building relationships with the Human Capital Service Centre (HCSC) to ensure optimal service delivery;
·Working with the Tax HC Senior Manager and Tax HC Director to execute on the compensation strategy and approach, including review of competitive positioning in the marketplace;
·Facilitating the annual performance appraisal process to ensure consistency and fairness of the process and outcomes based on Tax and Centre of Expertise (COE) guidance;
·Providing guidance on policies, programs and processes as necessary while ensuring alignment with local and national strategies;
·Providing guidance to Tax leaders and staff on Human Capital matters such as career counseling, coaching, and employee relations advice in order to minimize exposure of the firm to legal and reputational risks;
·Participating, when required, in select HC activities and projects, relating to the People Strategy;
·Leading and/or consulting on the execution of initiatives pertaining to engaging staff, improving employee morale and effectiveness in response to Global People Survey results and working with peers in other regions to ensure a common approach across the firm;
·Liaising with the recruitment team in the Talent Pillar to ensure that our talent acquisition strategies and activities attract the right candidates;
·Liaising with other HC Managers across the country to share and learn best practices;
·Participating in other projects and initiatives, local and national, as needed; and
·Learning through Enhanced Working Practices (EWP) routines including; shadowing, team workshops and lessons learned sessions, to develop self and others as PwC Professionals.
Requirements:
Education Level
·Undergraduate degree specializing in Human Resources and/or a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.
Experience Level
·A minimum of 4+ years of experience in a series of progressive HR roles, ideally within a professional services firm;
·Demonstrated steady progression and advancement with increased responsibilities;
·An in-depth understanding of human resources management and its link to business strategy
·A strong operational HR background with broad experience in implementing comprehensive human resource programs in a constantly changing, dynamic environment;
·A history of success in securing commitment and support for human resources initiatives;
·Experience in the execution of all facets of human resources; ...
