Job Details:
Seasoned engineer with ability to migrate core and hosted applications and tools within a highly virtualized enterprise datacenter environment. Must possess architecture, capacity, and solution design skillsets; vendor management; and team leadership experience. Candidate must also communicate well and deliver significant technological documentation in support of customer continual operations.
Specific duties will be to lead migration of 2 core and up to 50 hosted applications from the legacy data center to the new data center. The candidate will also migrate selected applications to a second data center and as part of a team, engineer and support use of the enterprise DR/COOP service by applications.
Successful candidate will be familiar with modern datacenter toolsets, platforms, and integrations; possess documented experience with VMware vCloud Suite; and have the ability to manager customer schedules, support application functionality testing and verification, and conduct multi-disciplinary troubleshooting as part of a team.
A DoD secret clearance or higher is required.
Required Experience/Skills
Minimum of five years of VMware solution design and implementation experience at an enterprise level (100 or more hosts). The applicant will demonstrate experience in implementing and managing VMware vSphere, Configuration Manager, Orchestrator, Ops Manager, and Automation Center. Familiarity with DoD STIG and fix processes.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Desired Skills
Proficiency in VMware Automation Center and managed service delivery.
Special Circumstances
Job is in Northern VA. At least 20% travel anticipated.
