Salary: £28,695 - £37,394
The funds for this post are available for one year.
This is an exciting opportunity to organise, manage and deliver a new suite of policy development activities for the Cambridge Institute of Public Health and the PublicHealth@Cambridge Network.
Specifically, working closely with the CIPH core team, the Network Coordinator, the new Public Health Policy Steering Group and others, the post-holder will develop a policy engagement plan and deliver engagement activities for selected research teams with selected groups of local and national policymakers within a tight timescale, responding to academic priorities and policy requirements.
Developing and managing relationships with stakeholders within and outside the University is an important aspect of this role, as is taking an active role in communicating and promoting CIPH and Network activities.
To be considered for this role, candidates will require a good first degree, demonstrable knowledge and understanding of public health research, policy and practice and a proven ability to nurture and foster essential relationships and partnerships at all levels. The post holder will also require excellent communication skills and will be able to synthesise and articulate scientific concepts and to present scientific information and analyses in an appropriate written or oral format. Experience working in a public health related role within a higher education, NHS, policy organisation, local government or government environment will be needed as well as previous experience of managing complex outputs to deadlines, together with strong organisational and problem solving skills and an ability to work proactively, independently and using initiative.
