Job Details:
To provide the highest quality of nursing care to all patients presenting for care in collaboration with the patient and other members of the health care team.
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Experience: Desired 1 year of experience in Emergency Medicine
Licenses/Certification: Current RN licensure in the state of New Hampshire, ACLS, BLS, obtain NRP within 1 year of employment (desired), obtain either ENPC or PALS within 1 year (desired)
*.Assessment, analysis, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation of interventions, outcome identification and evaluation of human responses of individuals in all age groups whose care is made more difficult by the limited access to past medical history and the episodic nature of their health care.
*.Utilizes current evidence-based nursing knowledge, including research findings, to guide practice decisions.
*.Emergency operations preparedness and response.
*.Resuscitation and stabilization of patients.
*.Crisis intervention for unique patient populations, such as sexual assault survivors.
*.Provision of care in uncontrolled or unpredictable environments.
*.Consistency as much as possible across the continuum of care.
*.Allocation of limited resources.
*.Demonstrates quality by documenting the application of the nursing process in a responsible, accountable and ethical manor.
*.Complies with legal consent, transfer protocols, and other legislative requirements that preserve patient rights and ensure appropriateness of care.
*.Collaborates with physicians and other departments and agencies to provide efficient, cost effective, optimum patient care.
*.Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patients’ health and or situation
*.Coordinates the care needs of multiple patients prioritizing patient care to ensure patient needs are met in a timely fashion, that quality care is delivered and the patient flow is enhanced.
*.Maintain a safe environment for patients and peers.
*.Verbally communicates patient needs in a concise, reasonable fashion.
*.Assesses patient and family knowledge and discharge needs and provides for the same.
*.Recognizes common and advances arrhythmias and intervenes according to established protocol.
*.Monitors life support and automated technical equipment, performs routine and complex treatments including medication administration and emergency resuscitation protocols.
*.Safely administers IV fluids, blood and blood products and other parenteral fluids.
*.Maintains safe administration of all medications by following the 5 rights of administration and RN standards of practice as dictated by licensure.
*.Demonstrates the ability to initiate and titrate a variety of IV drip medications utilized in the Emergency Department and the knowledge base for assessing patient response and intervening appropriately.
*.Able to rapidly problem solve and deliver calm, efficient care in a high stress situation.
*.Demonstrate the ability to work independently in the Emergency Department, asking for assistance when needed, maintaining patient safety.
*.Demonstrates ability to work as a team member & contributes to the daily function of the Emergency Department. Facilitates learning experiences & assists peers with care and assessment. Participates with orientation of new employees.
*.Provide good customer service to patients, peers, hospital employees and outside agencies....
