Roles & Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of this position will include, but will not be limited to:
• Helping with laying down requirements for new features and “stories”.
• Understanding wire-frames and user-experience design and transforming them into functional requirements.
• Developing applications based on the designs that fulfill the documented requirements and meet other goals such as user-experience, aesthetics, performance, reliability and scalability.
• Ensuring that the User Interface conforms to the standard look-and-feel of the product.
• Understanding and contributing to the direction the applications in the product are taking with respect to the needs of the customers and the overall market in general.
• Contribute to the home-grown framework used by the User Interface in the form of reusable components and related improvements.
Skills Needed:
- Ideally, you would have at least 4 years of work experience with enterprise level solutions, but there could be an exception if you can prove you are mature beyond your years.
Basic skill-set expected to be useful for this position includes:
• Developing user interfaces for a Python-based application/web-server. This may involve any popular web-framework including template-based frameworks, Django, CherryPy, etc.
• Good understanding of the MVC model in the User Interface and how to develop within it.
• Good working knowledge of HTML/CSS.
• Expertise in Javascript programming and modular development.
• Experience with Object-Oriented Javascript and design patterns.
• Experience with HTML5/CSS3 and a keen interest in staying up-to-date with the latest UI scripting tools.
• Experience in cross-browser compatibility exercises (primarily IE8+ and Firefox3+).
