Job Details:
Description• Technical analyst / software developer within the Downstream Manufacturing (Refinery and Chemicals) IT delivery organization where stakeholders and team members will be globally distributed.
• Process Area of focus is with Asset Information Management (AIM).
• Develop & modify information systems by designing, coding, testing, and deploying software solutions from specifications.
• Specifications for development will be obtained by eliciting information & conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; and investigating problem areas.
• Execute the full software development lifecycle.
• Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, and proposed solutions.
• Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and code comments.
• Write well designed, sustainable, testable, and efficient code that complies with industry software development standards and Shell’s information risk management standards.
• Integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
• Develop software test plans and quality assurance procedures.
• Maintain software functionality and documentation to ensure subsequent users can diagnose and fix any problems that might arise in a system.
• Drive continuous improvement of operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.
• Support IT Services and Operations in security, incident/problem management, change/release management and other run and maintain activities as a product subject matter expert.
RequirementsRequirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Proven working experience in software engineering (minimum 5 years).
• Hands on experience designing and developing interactive applications (minimum 5 years).
• Ability to develop software in C++, C#, and Java.
• Excellent knowledge of Oracle / Exadata relational databases and ability to write and interpret complex SQL Queries.
• Ability to document requirements and specifications
• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and release processes.
• Excellent communication skills; positive attitude; and committed to achieving deadlines and results with a demonstrable track record of delivery against targets.
• Having the experience and skills in the following areas is an added advantage…
o SAP ERP integration;
o Middleware management (eg. IIS, JBOSS, Java Runtime Environment, etc);
o Document & data management;
o Oil & Gas / Manufacturing background...
