Job Details:
POSITION SUMMARY
The senior Buyer will be responsible for conducting, and/or supporting sourcing initiatives including but not limited to; needs analyses, benchmarking, solution development, consensus gathering, RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, PO placement, proposal/pricing analysis, contract review and negotiation, annual/monthly commodity performance reporting, supplier performance management and analysis, and preparation of presentations to management. Oversees Service and Support purchasing’s cost control and sourcing activities for Nissan Canada.
POSITION FUNCTIONS
*.Helps to resolve all major issues and problems dealing with quality, cost, delivery, and issues involving multiple parties whether they are internal or external to Nissan.
*.Conducts detailed assessments of clients’ needs, including re-examination of baseline assumptions or predetermined solutions.
*.Collaboratively develops sound sourcing strategies with clients and suppliers, coordinating and reporting on all aspects of these strategies. Implements and monitors procedures to ensure compliance with an approved sourcing plan and budget guidelines.
*.Conducts market research and develops supplier panels for bid lists.
*.Prepares all formal sourcing documents. This includes sourcing plans, sourcing recommendations and approvals, cost adjustment recommendations, progress reports and monthly Best Forecast reports. Writes RFI, RFQ and RFP documents and manages the process for each.
*.Provides detailed analytical assessments of all purchasing related activities (proposal analysis, cost reduction, reporting, etc.).
*.Creates and negotiates contract terms and pricing. Executes sound contracts that create stable relationships and predictable results. Implements and monitors procedures to ensure compliance with approved sourcing plan and budget guidelines.
*.Plans, develops, implements, and maintains the cost reduction plans in support of Purchasing’s cost reduction goals. Implements Nissan Power 88 with suppliers.
*.Acts as a work leader and thought leader, providing instruction and guidance to buyers and associate buyers. Develops analytical techniques for buyer use in areas such as quote review, bundling analysis and sourcing recommendations. Assists buyers with complex and controversial price negotiations and assists the purchasing manager with special projects as required.
*.Oversees daily supplier purchasing issues for cost, quality development and program fulfillment for Canada. Identifies and resolves supplier issues related to price, supply, quality and delivery.
Minimum Requirements
*.University degree preferred or equivalent experience, CSCMP is an asset
*.Minimum 5 to 7 years of purchasing experience, preferably in services and support in Sales and Marketing
*.Knowledge of commercial and legal regulations, finance principles and concepts, life-cycle costing and basic accounting are necessary.
*.Intermediate level working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products especially Excel and PowerPoint, including other PC and mainframe applications to produce non-standard, creative reports. Experience with other ERP based front end Requisitioning and Purchasing systems. Experience with SAP is a definite asset.
*.The incumbent requires a broad range of interpersonal and communication skills used with a wide variety of people including management, end users, suppliers and co-workers dealing with complex, demanding and time-sensitive situations...
