Investment Analyst | IFC- Washington, DC USA

Job Details:
The selected candidate would be assigned to assist investment staff with securing new investments, transaction structuring, processing and supervision and undertake market research and mapping and would assist IFC’s Transport Specialists with maintaining and developing technical handbooks and databases
Note: If the selected candidate is a current Bank Group staff member with a Regular or Open-Ended appointment, s/he will retain his/her Regular or Open-Ended appointment. All others will be offered a 3 year term appointment.
Duties and Accountabilities:
Among other duties the analyst will be called upon to:
- Provide analytical, research, and processing support to project teams;
- Analyze financial statements and prepare financial models;
- Conduct industry, market and company research;
- Participate in all aspects of IFC’s project processing cycle, from project development to disbursement and supervision;
- Prepare project-related documents for internal and external audiences;
- Preparing Information Memorandum, Executive Summaries and other reports for the bank market, and high level briefs and working papers for IFC management;
- Help develop and update technical handbooks and other knowledge management materials; and
- Research/expand/update a cost and productivity database for major transportation sub-sectors in emerging markets.
Selection Criteria:
- Bachelor degree (ideally including some engineering coursework) with at least two years relevant work experience in project finance, investment banking, corporate finance and/or credit analysis work for a major bank/financial institution;
- Excellent knowledge of Excel and ability to develop complex financial models;
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills including corporate/project finance;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, knowledge of other language(s) especially Spanish or French a plus;
- Ability to think independently, analyze problems and identify appropriate solutions;
- Excellent organizational, administrative, and time management skills with proven ability to work promptly and efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people at all levels (inside and outside IFC) with demonstrated team spirit and responsiveness
