Dell Enterprise Solutions Group is looking for a talented SW developer to contribute to the development of an Enterprise System management platform aimed at simplifying Enterprise datacenter IT operations by automating workload and infrastructure deployments while maintaining the flexibility to scale workloads according to business needs inAustin, TX.
We are hiring aPuppet / RubySoftware Development Engineerto design & develop key components of the system management platform and ensure seamless integration with associated converged infrastructure architectures, to include; the latest in enterprise server, storage & networking & software platforms. Successful candidates are those who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced, scalable agile development environments and who have proven abilities to innovate, be highly motivated, & excellent team players, yet capable of working independently
Role Responsibilities:
- Function as a technical expert on Puppet module development for projects pertaining to the automation, orchestration and provisioning of infrastructure-as-a-service solutions supporting Linux based servers in private and public cloud environments
- Ensure seamless integration with supported, Storage, Networking, and Software Platforms
- Perform infrastructure service implementations, performance analysis and optimization, monitoring, & problem resolution
QualificationsRequirements:
- 8+ years of related experience
- Engineering Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
- Must have a strong background in Java and Ruby
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodology
- Familiarity with cloud deployment/configuration tools/software (Razor, Puppet & Chef, XML/JSON messages
- Expert knowledge in analyzing, designing, and developing solutions to highly complex problem
Preferences:
- J2EE server side and REST API development
- Protocols: FC, FCoE, iSCSI
- DC Virtualization/Cloud infrastructure environments: VMWare, Microsoft, RedHat
- IaaS: Red Hat (OpenStack), VMware (vCAC) and Microsoft (Azure IaaS & System Center)
- PaaS: Red Hat (OpenShift), Microsoft (Azure PaaS) and VMware/EMC (Cloud Foundry
- Current x86 server, networking & storage platforms. High focus on Dell HW
- WebBrowsers: FireFox, IE, Chrome
- Familiar with Unit Test, Mock, Test Driven Development...
