Job Details:
Effectively manage the entire transactional process posting of all accounting transactions for the regional office as well as the satellites reporting into it in accordance with corporate policies and local legislation and report to the Regional Finance Manager.
*.Ensure that all Accounts Payable invoices are processed and paid in a timely and accurate manner, manage the supplier contracts and review payable ledger to ensure they reflect the accurate position and aging of liability.
*.Ensure that Accounts Receivable information has interfaced accurately into Oracle Financials and review the ledger regularly. Apply the framework to ensure only credit worthy customers are accepted and provide FAMs with relevant information to follow-up outstanding debtors whilst adhering to the countries local credit risk policy.
*.Take responsibility for ensuring that the Fixed Assets are correctly accounted for by reconciling and controlling of financial transactions in Oracle Financials.
*.Ensure Cash Management is executed efficiently, bank statements are reconciled daily and unknown debits/credits are kept to a minimum. Highlight any banking issues to HO and oversee the repatriation process.
*.Ensure the General Ledger is reconciled, checks are completed and variances are explained against budget for Finance cost centers and recommendations made.
*.Assist country FAMS in annual budget preparation by providing the necessary data support and ensuring that submissions are within guidelines and deviations explained.
*.Provide training to new finance team members where necessary to ensure they are productive and have the necessary tools/information to conduct their jobs.
*.Develop and motivate staff in the regional and satellite financial offices by providing leadership and guidance where required.
*.Assist the department in other related work as and when necessary.
Qualifications & Experience
*.Educated to Degree level, preference is for a recognised professional accounting qualification to the standard of Chartered Accountant, CPA or similar.
*.At least 8 years of professional experience, of which 3 to 4 years must be in a senior supervisory capacity.
*.Experience of managing a shared service with high volumes and dealing in various currencies is essential as well as knowledge of rules and procedures under the local laws to take care of statutory requirements as necessary.
*.Comprehensive knowledge of airline accounting procedures and familiarity with IATA regulations with regard to Passenger/Cargo/Excess Baggage sales is highly desirable.
*.Ability to function independently within an established framework and to be practical and innovative.
*.Fluent in written and spoken English.
