Role Responsibilities And Experience
• The successful candidate will be expected to provide internal and external pre and post-sales support for IBM ITSM Software engagements. Interlock is required with sales specialists and sales teams to achieve sales targets. Sales engagements may be direct or indirect through channel business partners or systems integrators.
• A desire to operate in all parts of the technical sales spectrum is necessary for this role. This can range from being hands on with technology for demonstration/product integration/technical proving activities, through to architectural analysis and design of solution offerings, through to consultative activities.
• Demonstrated experience or awareness of the following areas of technology and their application for business outcomes would be an advantage:
• Infrastructure Management Platforms
• IT Operations Management
• IT Service Management - Process frameworks and standards such as ITIL
• Network Management
You Will Be Required To
• actively participate in winning IBM solution opportunities by positioning IBM Middleware ITSM technology offerings against competitive offerings and assisting the sales team in proposing winning solutions.
• position the IBM ITSM Software suite to customers, technical, management and executive staff in the context of how to use the technology for business advantage and as a component of broader IBM solutions. It is necessary to be technically articulate both orally and in creating written responses/documentation.
• connect technology offerings with business value outcomes for customers.
Typical Activities Include But Are Not Limited To
• Engagement and management of the technical aspects of product sales
• Internal presentations and external presokayyokayyentations to customers and Business partners
• RFI/RFP Responses
• Solution architecture design
• Provide technical sales accelerators such as demonstrations, Proof of Technology and Proof of Concept exercises, delivering workshops
• Business value studies such as Return on Investment analysis
• Prepare technical assessments and software configurations
• Technical Delivery Assurance (TDA) and Readiness Planning
• Post-Sales Support and/or Critical Situation Management
• Formulating, managing and implementing technical accounts plans
• Present the value of IBM ITSM Software and the IBM solution to all levels of customer management. Most importantly the candidate should demonstrate proven "hands on" experience of system platforms and network connectivity.
The role should leverage the broader team of Middleware Software specialists. As such, the role requires the ability to team with IT Specialists from across the entire Middleware Software portfolio to architect the combination of offerings for greater customer value.
