Job Details:
The System Administrators (SA) shall have expertise in UNIX system administration, Solaris integration, and Solaris with trusted extensions. SA personnel shall also be proficient with ORACLE database systems and common network maintenance. Administrators will be permanently assigned to a geographic location within the United States, and shall be able to deploy overseas with operational squadrons when needed.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
*.Maintain operation and connectivity of the IMIS main servers (3-5 per base, 1 per squadron when deployed) and all network devices
*.Maintain IMIS database and operating system
*.Minimize duration of unscheduled system downtime
*.Setup, configure, repair and maintain all IMIS hardware including servers, and workstations
*.Install IMIS software updates
*.Troubleshoot user issues and answer user questions about IMIS applications
*.Create, modify, and delete user accounts, reset user passwords
*.Ensure secure backup / restoration of system data
*.Maintain security of Government facilities, material, and classified data
*.Ability to work onsite 40 hours per week, in addition to providing on-call remote support with potential to report in-person if the need arises to support the flying squadron at home station sites on weekends and non-duty days. When deployed, either stateside or overseas, SA personnel shall provide around-the-clock (24 hours per day, IAW section 5.3) operational support for each flying squadron at a deployed location.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
*.Each SA must have experience in UNIX server administration, primarily Solaris with trusted extensions, general ethernet networking, and trusted system concepts. SA personnel must have experience with ORACLE database management and structured query language (SQL), and must understand government communications security (COMSEC) procedures and requirements.
*.Expert Level Administrator:
*.5 years of experience managing large-scale, secure network systems (500-1500 users) in a DOD environment;
*.2-3 years of experience supporting multi-level secure systems, including Solaris with Trusted Extensions or equivalent;
*.Advanced experience using common programming/scripting/database languages including SQL
*.Mid-Level Administrator:
*.2-3 years of experience managing secure network systems in a DOD environment;
*.Prior experience supporting multi-level secure systems, including Solaris with Trusted Extensions or equivalent;
*.At least 2-3 years of experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting databases, applications, and scripts on Linux/Unix/Solaris platforms;
*.Advanced experience configuring and supporting WAN, LAN, and Wireless technologies;
*.Practical experience using common programming/scripting/database languages including SQL
*.Entry Level Administrator:
*.Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Information systems, OR at least 2 years of relevant networking experience as an alternative to formal education;
*.At least 1 year of experience working with Linux/Unix and Solaris servers; Basic understanding of networking technologies;
*.Strong analytical problem solving skills
*.Must demonstrate adequate training or knowledge covering Sun Trusted Solaris system administration, ORACLE administration, SQL, COMSEC processes including encryption and decryption methods, and trusted system concepts...
