Job Details:
This position requires technical and leadership skills in the development of innovative diagnostic products to manage patients. The Firmware Engineer will apply technical principles, theories and concepts in working on difficult technical problems. This position will work under general direction and have latitude in determining how to solve problems. The Firmware Engineer will participate on cross-functional development teams that manage projects from concept through commercialization and will have a technical role within the R&D project team
Position Responsibilities
• Specifies, designs, documents and verifies embedded SW for medical devices in a regulated environment using standard SW engineering tools and methods
• Develops and implements verification designs based on requirements and specifications
• Designs, debugs and tests own software and software developed by others
• Provides ongoing status updates
• Identifies opportunities for productivity and quality improvements
• Implement test scripts and execute the test scripts in simulation
• Analyze data and author test reports
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering)
2+ years of experience
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s Degree
• Open source development tools
• Embedded Linux
• Experience in translating design requirements to test requirements
• Experience in test design
• Experience in the Perl, Python or C/C++
• Experience in working in both Windows and Linux environments
• Experience in configuration and change management tools
• Experience of working within a team to accomplish team and individual goals
