Tax Analyst | PAREXEL International- Dublin

PLEASE NOTE This role is office-based in Dublin.
Key Accountabilities
- Support the migration of PAREXEL’s Indirect Tax compliance model to the new Dublin office in Ireland and support any future insourcing, outsourcing or co-sourcing as part of that model.
- Apply VAT compliance skills gained in previous employments to assist the VAT Compliance Team in relation to all aspects of Parexel’s VAT compliance process.
- Take responsibility for preparing VAT returns in relation to several jurisdictions, some of which may be complex.
- Willingness to participate in non-compliance work and to learn VAT technical skills.
- Work closely with the controllers supporting VAT compliance and the outside tax providers to ensure that all transactions are properly reflected on local VAT returns and to support business transformation tax planning strategies.
- The role will support the optimization of the ERP Oracle VAT set-up and processes working internally and externally across the business units.
- Ongoing indirect transactional support on VAT queries, VAT contract terms and advice to the business.
- Support in-country VAT audits working with the controllership and external tax advisors.
- Provides ad-hoc analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of documentation, processes and training guides for staff who are involved in data entry impacting VAT accounting, specifically Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
QualificationsSkills
- Extensive Tax/ VAT accounting experience within a large multinational or international professional organization
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to work independently
- Ability to work in an international environment and across cultures
- Excellent communication skills (English, both written and verbal) including the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Client and customer service focused approach to work
- High discipline with a “deliver on time” attitude
- Ability to deal with high volumes, sometimes in complex situations.
- A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning
- Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail
- Willingness to work in a matrix environment and to value the importance of teamwork.
- Willingness to travel
- Working knowledge in MS – Office, Excel
- Working knowledge of Oracle Financials would be helpful but is not necessary.
Education
- Business, Accounting or Law degree preferred but not essential
Language Skills
- Fluent English. Any additional languages would be an advantage
Minimum Work Experience
- Extensive VAT experience within the tax/finance function of an international corporation with a knowledge of global accounting and tax compliance processes and VAT reporting structures...
