Job Details:
The purpose of the DCS Lead Engineer role is toPerform/Direct the Development, Design and Implementation of Process Control Systems and to assist DCS Engineers on new and upgrading of existing industrial process instrumentation and control projects. The Lead Engineeris akey member of a Diverse team of professionals executing process control projects in Refining, OIl and Gas, Petrochemical and related industries. Candidates must have an excellent understanding of Heavy industry process control to develop and execute the project control strategies and system architecture used on assigned projects. This position will be based in Dubai and will involvea cordination with the Emerson Engineering Back Offices in addition to the customer.
The Lead Engineer will be responsible for Technical delivery in the project whilst keeping the Schedule, Quality and the cost budget in check. His/Her main role will be as below:
1. Plan the overall activities in the Design/Implementation with the engg. team to get the buy-in.
2. Develop preliminary Draft of Functional Design Specification based on the Customer specifications.
3. Prepare Quality Checklist based on the Customer specs and ensure it’s use for checking the deliverables.
4. Monitor the Back Office Project engineering activity to ensure On specs Engineering deliverables.
5. Conduct Share and Learn sessions.
6. Review the Engineering estimates/FDS from Back Office/Local teams.
7. Maintain Positive energy and good motivation and Productivity in the project teams.
8. Conduct FEED for Project opportunities.
9. Identify and use the Standards ( Document/Application/report Templates ) applicable to the project.
10. Coordinate and follow up with Factory Lead /Sourcing/Procurement/IT/Product Specialists.
11. Lead the Design Review meetings and FAT activities with Customer.
12. Plan and Timely issue the PR (Purchase Requests) and seek necessary approvals.
13. Support PM/EM in the Commercial/logistic decisions whenever asked for.
14. Travel to Customer location to Participate specific activities during commissioning/Startups/Hot cut over
15. Support Site Teams on Technical issues.
QualificationsThe successful candidate will have;
Instrumentation Degree and professional experience OR Electrical degree with strong recent Instrumentation experience.
Strong technical knowledge of DCS and Delta V
Managerial / team lead background
Will have worked on medium to large scale projects...
