Big Data Sales Specialist is a business discipline which is focused on the practical application of sales techniques and the management of a firm's sales operations. It is an important business function as net sales through the sale of products and services and resulting profit drive most commercial business. These are also typically the goals and performance indicators of sales management. Sales Executive is the typical title of someone whose role is sales management. The role typically involves sales planning, human resources, talent development, leadership and control of resources such as organizational assets.

Big Data Sales Specialist is a quota-carrying sales specialist responsible for opportunity progression and closing of software sales that solve our customers Big Data and Analytics challenges. IBM's leading products in categories such as data-at-rest (Hadoop/Big Insights), data-in-motion (InfoSphere Streams), and data-in-the-cloud (Cloud Data Services) are the focus areas of this position. This position is for a senior sales specialist that has sold complex offerings in a competitive environment. We are looking for sales specialists that have more of a technical orientation, yet have the experience to run a complex sales campaign. We are looking for the best.
Required Skills:
Ability to lead a complex sales campaign in a highly competitive environment.
Ability to articulate the value of IBM's Big Data Portfolio, including the differences between data at rest, data in motion, data in the cloud, etc.
Ability to understand market dynamics of the Big Data space to lead competitive positioning in a sales campaign.
Demonstrated knowledge of the economics behind capital purchases and tradeoffs of on-premise and cloud-based software solutions
Demonstrated interpersonal and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated written communication skills
Demonstrated organizational skills, discipline, with attention to detail and ability to balance multiple tasks
Competitive self-starter with a sense of urgency
Interact with corporate-level executives
Objective handling skills
