Description
1. Planning
*.Plan and schedule operations in mechanical, construction, mechanical harvesting and garage workshops in central engineering in liaison with line manager to support factories and other units to meet customer needs.
2. Preventive maintenance
*.Come up with preventive maintenance programs for mechanical & Construction equipment.
*.Coordinate the implementation of the maintenance programs of mechanical, construction, mechanical harvesting and garage workshops.
*.Coordinate implementation of Planned Maintenance pillar in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) in factories in liaison with the TPM Manager
*.Coordinate the roads and water infrastructure maintenance program in UTK.
*.Responsible for Carpentry workshop operations
*.Responsible for all tarmac and murram roads maintenance
*.Responsible for maintenance of heavy plant for roads and other vehicles.
3. Administration
*.Advise Company Chief Engineer monthly on the status of the mechanical revenue budget.
*.Responsible for Garage at Central Engineering and coordinate service centre operations
*.Responsible for running MH workshop and satellite centre operations.
*.Processing departmental returns required for accounting purposes.
*.Manage IR, welfare and is responsible for SHE in his/her department
*.Deliver the business targets aligned to the Company Strategy into Action (SiA)
*.Preparation of Department’s budgets & Capital Expenditure Proposals including vehicle omnibus, mechanical workshop, construction & track expenditure monthly.
*.Control direct budgetary expenses through resource allocation and utilization in thesection.
*.Implement financial controls in the sectionas provided for in the accounting manual.
*.Takes custody of the Engineering cash safe.
*.Verify all unionisable staff expense claims in line with the financial guidelines.
*.Propose staffing needs in the section to the line manager.
*.Handle internal industrial relation issues in the section in conjunction with linemanager.
*.Implement all company policies, regulations, guidelines and standards
4.Project Management
*.Propose to the line manager and working with the projects team, prepares input anddocumentation for Capital Expenditure proposals.
*.Execute agreed projects within time, quality and cost limits set
5. Contractor Management
*.Provide input into the list of approved contractors/consultants
*.Verifies contracts, contractor payment and supplier invoices and submits to the linemanager for approval.
6. Safety, Health and Environment -Ensure all SHE standards and procedures are complied with
7.Support for Units
*.Organize capacity building in service centres and satellite centres.
*.Serve as a link between unit service centres and estate MH satellite workshops with central engineering workshop.
Qualifications and Experience
·Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering
·Registered with ERB
·At least 2 years relevant experience...
