Job Details:
In this role you will be responsible to overlook and ensure that Qatar Airways (QR) standards and procedures are implemented in order to achieve overall goals. You will plan , supervise and support the staff in order to provide quality customer service and surpass revenue targets and ensure full compliance at all times with all safety and security regulations and procedures as per host state and company requirements. You will update HO on the current local government regulations relevant to the respective station to ensure smooth cargo operations.
You will assist the duty officer to generate cargo sales in order to meet or exceed the set revenue / tonnage target for stations and coordinate with ground handling agent (GHA) on a regular basis to ensure QR stands are adhered to and ensure all safety measures are taken by operations staff as well as GHA . You will ensure all staff adheres to optimal use of capacity to maximise revenue whenever possible with on time performance for freighters. You will handle customer requirements /requests professionally on a daily basis and assist staff and customers to resolve difficult issues / problems and reduce customer complains. You will prepare staff rosters to ensure propose distribution of manpower and brief staff with relevant changes in the industry and QR products and services. You will also prepare cargo reports when required by management and support sales to keep systems updates with operational information.
You will liaise with local GHA and with HO Cargo department to enhance high quality customer service provided in sales and support import customers for clearance of their cargo , liaise with customs authorities to facilitate smooth and timely import clearance , liaise with HQ DOH and / or origin stations for necessary support. You will look after flight planning with maximum utilization of the flight capacity , control and operations export & import.
About You:
You must have completed bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of job related experience out of which 2 -3 years of work experience in the airline air freight cargo operations. You should have air cargo operations supervision skills, done a ramp handling course, basic rating and DGR experience is also required as well as detailed knowledge on the current TASA regulations, on IATA cargo handling, IATA cargo service manual,
You will be computer literate and familiar with MS office applications (Word, Excel Power Point and Access). Good English communication skills is essential. Customer service and negotiation skills are also required.
