Job Details:
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
This position takes the sales & operations plans as major input and manages the translation into operations schedules to direct the execution of the regional sales & operations plan. Operations schedules include coordination of refinery activities, Transnet Pipelines infrastructure and numerous depot infrastructure. It also manages the execution of demand fullfilment of all SA Energy BU customers, i.e. Wholesale Marketing and Direct Sales through coordination of facilities scheduling. The role also manages the planning and execution of all stock transfer orders to ensure that inventory is kept at healthy levels at all depots to enable fulfillment of customer demand whilst maintaining working capital at optimal levels.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1.) Translate and execute Sales &Operations Plans (S&OP)
- Translate S&OP into optimal schedules aligned with Short Term Plan (STP) and all relevant stakeholders
- Monitor schedule execution and pro-active manage any deviations from STP
- All aspects and activities managed according to the established risk profile
2.) Develop and review policies and procedures to promote effective management of operations
- All operational task have clear standard operating procedures based on risk profiles
- All personnel competent in all relevant procedures
- Business processes aligned to outbbound logistics process
3.) Give input, translate and implement SA Energy Supply Chain strategy for the region
- Distribution Requirements Plan objectives aligned to SA Energy strategy
- Advise SC Planning on pipeline and depot capacities as well as operational dynamics during planning phase give inputs on the Transnet Pipeline that will positively influence the business.
4.) Manage risk associated with all activities within area of responsibility
- Manage selection of appropriate mode of transport for all movements (Pipe, Road and Rail)
- Maintain accurate and up to date stock progressions
- Manage costs of demurrage for all modes of transport
- Manage and influence allege constraints at our Refineries and Depots
5.) Manage the translation and execution of short term plans to ensure that sales demand is adequately fulfilled
- Resource capacity adequate to meet demand plans
- Transnet Pipelines and other service providers execution aligned to STP's
- Manage pipe and tanks stocks to ensure alignment with SAE strategic objectives
- Facilitate achievement of customer demand through seamless and integrated logistics solutions (Pipe, Rail and Road)
6.) Manage interface with multiple service providers and internal stakeholders
- Multi-model inventory scheduling and movement tracking with all transport service providers
- Regular reporting(daily, weekly and monthly) to Supply Chain Planning and Optimisation on risk related to STP's
- Manage costs related Pipe, Road and Rail (from/to our refineries and Depots)
- Provide a support structure to Planning, Wholesale Marketing and Stock Control on all operational issues
- Provide up to date and accurate information w.r.t. inventory movements to all relevant stakeholders
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Relevant B Degree e.g. B Com (must and completed)
EXPERIENCE:
-5 years oil and gas industry experience - must
-Supply Chain management experience
-Strong networking skills
-Sound understanding of logistics related to pipe, ship, rail and road
