Job Details:
To investigate OPICS GL against PSGL exceptions, investigate breaks in Bank’s Securities positions in BTS/OPICS against TLM, and breaks on Suspense accounts for Ghana as assigned to you by Manger in line with procedures laid down in the Operating Instructions and to ensure that standards as defined in the KCS are maintained at all times.

Attend to Nostro Investigations queries raised on Financial Markets
Attend to all failed trades assigned to you by your Manager
Ensure all returns are prepared accurately and submitted promptly
Ensure all Investigated items for Ghana are adequately filed and readily accessible to departmental staff.
Investigate suspense accounts used by Financial Markets allocated to you by your Manager
Achieve required standards of accuracy, quality and efficiency in all tasks undertaken
Exhibit an understanding of the needs of the internal and external customers served by the Investigations function, and respond speedily to requests from them
Contribute to the improvement in the effectiveness of the team as a whole by fostering good working relationships with team members
Ensure all deals captured in Opics update Internal GL for Ghana assigned to you by your Manager
All related FMO Investigations assigned to your are done within stipulated timeframe
Take reasonable care for the health & safety of co-workers
Cooperate with management to support and promote Health and Safety in the workplace
Work in a healthy and safe manner and encourage others to work in a healthy and safe manner
Report all accidents, and incidents and bring to the attention of management any hazard in the workplace.
DIMENSIONS
Average of 4,500 deals processed per month
All suspense accounts exceptions and nostro breaks are investigated on daily basis and resolved
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
Internal - Managers of SCB Ghana and Dealers at FM Front Office
External - Central bank of Ghana and Financial Market Counterparties
Qualifications and Skills
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Treasury Product knowledge
Good working knowledge of SWIFT messaging
Good communication skills
Good knowledge of Bank’s products and services
Good working knowledge of the operation of other departments
A good first degree from a recognised University
COMPLEXITY/JUDGEMENT
Very high attention to detail as a lack of this could lead to substantial financial loss to the Bank in Ghana
Ability to manage internal customers in quest to keep suspense accounts free of aged items..
