Job Details:
Main purpose of the role
•• Brings the necessary skills and expertise to develop relevant packaging for packaging innovations, as part of a holistic product design, delivered to time and cost targets (OTIF).
• Supports projects through effective and efficient delivery of trials (and preliminary analysis of results),prototypes (product+pack), technical reports or communication.
• Supports implementation in the business environment
• Supports the implementation of R&D elements of the Category Program
Main accountabilites
• Leads the packaging input to consumer relevant product innovation according to the key project deliverables.
• Leads execution (and supervision where appropriate) of trials at laboratory, pilot plant or full scale including comprehensive testing protocols for critical aspects of performance and reporting of trial outcomes.
• Records data accurately and reporting to inform business decisions.
• Develops prototypes for validation/proof of principle.
• Defines technical specifications.
• Maintains standards set by quality / safety / portfolio management systems in place such as SHE, BQ, DQS, IPM, Interspec etc.
• Contributes to risk assessment and executes risk management plans for projects.
• Keeping abreast of developments in own area of expertise, delivering recommendations for new techniques, ways of working.
• Co-ordinates and leads R&D function in specifically assigned projects.
• Trains and develops peers and others in own skill area.
• Problem Solving: Requirement for occasional identification of complex problems and proposing solutions.
• Inputs and approves specifications and communication material for new innovations
