Job Details:
As a Senior I&C Designer, located at our Pickering, Ontario office, your responsibilities will include:
*.Preparing or reviewing design deliverables for existing and new nuclear plant instrumentation and controls system design modifications/upgrades/replacements
*.Preparing or reviewing typical instrumentation and controls design documentation (instrumentation data sheets, specifications, control schematics, loop diagrams, instrument lists, block diagrams, Instrument Index, Design bill of materials, Installation drawings and electrical/instrumentation plant layouts, Elementary Wiring Diagrams, Connection Wiring Diagrams, Panel layouts) for both nuclear and conventional side of the nuclear plants
*.Developing the instrumentation and controls design schemes and the interfaces to the electrical distribution systems
*.Working on development of process and instrument diagrams
*.Generating instrument database, valve sizing and interlock descriptions and assisting with control narratives
*.Selecting materials, components and equipment suitable to the project requirements
*.Identifying instrumentation and controls components parameters such as sizes, temperatures, pressures and other physical characteristics that are to be considered in the controls design
*.Preparing deliverables to meet applicable codes, regulations and restrictions, and other factors affecting the design of the project and establish and obtain agreement with the Client on the applicable codes and standards to be followed
*.Preparing a conceptual cost estimate or cooperate appropriately with others responsible for reporting the estimate, if required
*.Working closely and assisting mechanical and electrical teams with selection of mechanical, electrical and process equipment and system modifications

*.Providing technical expertise across a peer group
*.Providing general knowledge of other related disciplines and how they relate to their specific technical area
*.Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of significant complexity
*.Actively promoting, encouraging and supporting the identification and implementation of continuous improvement both within and outside their immediate sphere and prompt action across the wider team
*.Determining and leading projects or technical packages to deliver solutions
*.Ability to exchange complex technical ideas and information in a concise and logical way, over a broader and wider range of topics or in technical depth with others broadly familiar with the technical subject
*.Working within the guidelines of Rolls-Royce?s Quality Program
