ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The System Administrator (SA) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, maintenance of systems hardware and software. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. Ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, volunteers, and Partners.
This individual will assist project teams with technical issues in the planning phases of our standard Project Management Methodology. These activities include the definition of needs, benefits, technical strategy; research & development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions. Participation on projects is focused on smoothing the transition of projects from development staff to production staff by performing operations activities within the project life-cycle.
This individual is accountable for managing 24x7 operations of the following domains: Linux, Windows, Exadata, Exalogic, Netbackup, Oracle Database Appliance, ZFS storage, Scripting and Oracle Virtual machine.
Data Center management:
*.· Troubleshooting hardware/cable issues
*.· Replacement of CRU parts during hardware failure
*.· Coordinate with Field engineer on FRU parts
*.· Data center inspection and report failures
*.· Spare management
*.· Tape management
*.· New hardware installations
*.· Datacenter maintenance
*.· 24x7 support
External vendor/Customer engagement
*.· Meeting with Customer on incidents, project and new requirement planning.
*.· Meeting with Vendors on incidents, project and new requirement planning.
*.· Drive any load balancer escalation and followup with F5 team till closure.
*.· Drive Network issues and followup with Huawei team.
*.· Closely work with Datacenteric support team for netbackup escalations.
*.· Working with MTN Firewall, DNS and Security teams
*.· Presenting Change in CAB and get approval from respective teams/customer
*.· Coordinate on Hardware expansion with Vendor and Field Engineering team.
*.· Followup with support of hardware failures.
*.· Golive support.
SA Engineering and Provisioning
*.· Engineering of SA-related solutions for various project and operational needs.
*.· Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
*.· Install and configure systems such as supports GIS infrastructure applications or Asset Management applications.
*.· Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
*.· Contribute to and maintain system standards.
*.· Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale...
